Imraan “Immy” Farukhi practices in the areas of entertainment, trademark, copyright and general business, including both transactional and litigation matters. Prior to joining Bienstock & Michael, P.C., Immy worked at the entertainment law firm of Gray Krauss Des Rochers LLP in New York.
Immy earned his J.D. from Pace University School of Law in 2009, where he served as Vice President of the Intellectual Property Student Organization and was a member of the Sports, Entertainment & Art Law Society. During law school, Immy was awarded a national Peggy Browning Fellowship to work in the legal department of the Screen Actors Guild in New York. Also during law school, Immy interned in the Business & Legal Affairs department of Atlantic Records.
Prior to law school, Immy worked at the New York-based intellectual property law firm of Frommer Lawrence & Haug LLP and also interned for the United States Attorney’s Office in Washington, D.C. Additionally, Immy held various internships in Hollywood, including for music supervisor Amanda Demme (Garden State, Mean Girls, Blow); director James Cameron’s film production company, Lightstorm Entertainment (The Terminator, The Abyss, Titanic); and the Screen Actors Guild Foundation.
Immy’s experience in the music industry began in college, where he served as the music events coordinator for Villanova University, directing the production of live concerts for local and national acts, including Jason Mraz, Fountains of Wayne and The Ataris.
Immy is also an active musician and currently performs with his band, coincidentally named, Law Of The Sea.
