NY SONGWRITERS CIRCLE CONTENT NOW ACCEPTING SUBMISSIONS(04/30/08)
The New York Songwriters Circle is now accepting submissions for their 2008 Songwriting Contest. With more than $15,000 in prize money and gift certificates at stake, this annual contest (in its 3rd year) is sure to be competitive. Other prizes include a chance to perform at Madison Square Garden during halftime of a New York Titans game and more.
Past winners of the contest include Myspace Records artist (and star of the hit TV show "One Tree Hill") Kate Voegele and Company of Thieves, who Billboard called "one of the best unsigned acts out there."

Multi-platinum Atlantic Records recording artists Simple Plan have released their brand new self-titled album today.
The first single, "When I'm Gone," is currently at radio in the U.S. and internationally. Beginning February 25th, the band will perform U.S. dates in New York, Philadelphia, Detroit and Chicago, before heading to Europe on March 27 for 21 dates.

Film composer & music producer Marinho Nobre has won the 2008 Park City Film Music Festival Jury Award's Gold Medal for Excellence - Best Feature Score for his work on the feature drama "Al Qarem" from directors/writers Affandy Yacoob & Ajmal Yourish.

SIMPLE PLAN ARTICLE IN BILLBOARD(10/26/07)
Canadian rock outfit Simple Plan will introduce its as-yet-untitled new album Monday (Oct. 29) during a cybercast on SimplePlan.com that will feature its first single, "When I'm Gone." The cut was co-produced by Timbaland associate Nate "Danjahandz" Hills, who also worked on album tracks "The End" and "Generation."
"When I'm Gone" will also hit radio on Oct. 29, while its ringtone will be available exclusively that day from Simple Plan's Web site. Fans who pre-order the new album through Lala.com will receive the "When I'm Gone" download for free.
In addition to Hills, Simple Plan worked with Dave Fortman and Max Martin on the follow-up to 2004's million-plus seller "Still Not Getting Any." The group will unveil new material during a handful of holiday-themed concerts in December, with dates to be announced.

ABC-TV's Philadelphia affiliate, Action News 6, is currently featuring Fooling April as its Artist of the Month for August. This month-long feature comes less than a month after Action News ran a story showcasing Fooling April's exposure as a result of the hit ABC soap opera "All My Children."
